LifeShield Monitoring Plans

LifeShield offers two monitoring plans. The $19.99/month (excluding tax) plan covers 24/7 monitoring against fire, burglary, and other emergencies, remote smartphone access via the LifeShield app, and custom texts, notifications, and email alerts. The second monitoring plan costs $24.98/month (excluding tax) and offers the same set of features plus 30-day video history of alarm events recorded by your security cameras.

As for the equipment, you get to handpick which devices you want to add to your system. A basic kit that includes a LifeShield Base unit, entry keypad, yard sign, and window decals is mandatory. You just need to add at least four sensors in order to make a purchase. The basic kit, which has a total regular price of $181.98, is sold at a discounted price of $109.19. However, the devices you will add thereafter will be charged to you at their regular price.

Ways To Save Money

The equipment is paid upfront, so it's understandable if you want to find a way to lower the equipment cost. The best way to get the equipment at a discounted price is buying it in kits. LifeShield offers two pre-built kits.

Shield Your Pad

The smallest equipment kit is Shield Your Pad. It includes:

  • 1 LifeShield Base
  • 1 Entry Keypad
  • 4 Door/Window Sensors
  • 1 Motion Sensor
  • 1 Fire Safety Sensor
  • 1 Keychain Remote
  • 1 Yard Sign
  • 2 Window Stickers

If you buy these devices individually, the entire system will cost you over $300. However, if you buy them as a kit, the price is only $199.15 (plus shipping).

Secure Your House

The next kit is Secure Your House. Its retail value is $491.87, but buying it as a kit brings down the price to $295.12. This kit includes:

  • 1 LifeShield Base
  • 1 Entry Keypad
  • 6 Door/Window Sensors
  • 2 Motion Sensors
  • 1 Fire Safety Sensor
  • 1 Indoor Camera
  • 1 Keychain Remote
  • 1 Yard Sign
  • 2 Window Stickers

Other Fees You Should Know About

LifeShield's pricing structure is pretty straightforward, but there are still some fees you might not realize you have to pay until you see the bill.

First is the shipping fee. Paying for the equipment is one thing; paying for the shipping is another. 2-day shipping will cost you $30, while next day shipping will set you back $50. You always have the option to go with regular shipping, which is free, but will take 5 to 7 days to arrive.

Second is taxes. The monitoring price mentioned above doesn't include taxes, so expect your monthly monitoring bill to be slightly higher than the advertised pricing.

Third is alarm permit. This is a permit you can obtain from your local city government that basically permits you to install a security system and have it monitored by a monitoring center. This is mainly to address the issues of false alarms. If an alarm permit is required in your locality, you must first obtain it from your local government before activating your alarm system.

Fourth, is using cellular signal as your primary communication. LifeShield's system is programmed to use your internet connection as its primary communication while having cellular communication as backup. This won't cost you. However, you can ask LifeShield to make cellular signal the primary communication, which is more reliable than landline or internet. If you do so, your monthly monitoring fee will increase.
